Anyways, when my sis was here we didn’t do anything special…just watched stuff together, laughed and talked late into the night :D. We also went on long walks around the nice trails around in Vermont – namely near lake Champlain and we also decided to make a short driving trip to Stowe for some change of scenery. It was two weeks of good relaxing time! We also played a good amount of games (got sore from kinect stuff -_-) and ate a LOT ^_^

Yesterday I saw Dredd with my friends. It is a pretty kick ass action movie! My friend was driving us around so it was nice to goof off and not drive for a change…I got the shotgun muahahahaha :3. I really like driving but sometimes it is nice to be able to sit back and relax too lol.

Anyways back to the title of my post…some of you here in the US might have been suffering from the terrible heat wave as well x_x. Well this year I decided to get an AC because the heat was unbearable! I got a portable AC from the costco near my work yesterday…I was hoping to get a smaller model but they were either not stocked or all sold out :O. There was one last piece of portable ones remaining…can you imagine that? Some people were eye-ing it and I was all possessive like “GTFO this is mineeeeeee”. Well I had to switch carts so I was lucky no one stole it from me while I got the lower cart. Anyways…the one I got is a bigger/better model than the one I originally wanted. Pretty cool eh? Except the box wouldn’t fit into my car lol. There were two guys helping me try getting it into my car. I suggested we rip off the useless box and my idea worked! The ride home was uneventful…but carrying it into my apartment was a herculean task >_>. The AC is almost 2/3rd my height. I also have a single flight of stairs to my apartment…I just took one little step at a time and managed to haul it all the way up in the end…I was sweating profusely by then…had to change into a fresh set instantaneously! The next part was installing the AC itself -_-;

I have wanted to get an AC before…but the installation always puts me off. See back home people come and install stuff for you…furniture is per-assembled and people bring it to your house. What I am trying to get at is that I never had to assemble things or install them myself until I came to the US. Sure my parents made my very independent and I have done fun odd things like paint our house and honestly I am quite good at it :D. Buttt installing an AC is um a pain. Also whenever I need my tool set it manages to go missing T_T. Soo I improvise…I use the metallic buffer in a nail cutter as my screw driver! I did a flimsy job but at least I installed the exhaust hose so that the least amount of hot air gets leaked into my bedroom. Wahooo the AC is amazing…even though I slept late last night it was the best sleep I have had in the past few days :3. I was soo tired out by the end though that I never made it to the gym…let’s just hope that it gets a little cooler so I can get back on my fitness program…

So that is it with the AC rant. Besides that I have been playing video games as always. Seems like the pre-college me is back xD. I can’t imagine how I survived on occasional PC and PSP gaming back then x_x. I have been playing a lot of borderlands whenever I can. I absolutely love this game (surprising that it is a FPS)…there are some kinks like every other game and some annoying things like bad navigation guide, stupid jumps (until someone told me a trick which works!) and some amount of backtracking. However the game art is pretty awesome if you like cartoon-ish feel to cell shaded graphics! The thing I really like about it is there is no such thing as a difficulty level…so everyone amateur to expert plays through the same settings…everything is handled through leveling up…so you can take your sweet time to prepare for a formidable enemy ^_^. To me it is almost like elder scrolls with guns :3. Besides that I have been making progress on super scribblenauts whenever I can! I love that game as well xD. On that note I found this video absolutely hilarious…do watch it!

Quick updates on other fronts…I have made the move to Verizon with an iPhone! I love it so far and often troll with Siri. It feels nice and solid. I like Android but depending on your hardware it can be quite buggy whereas the iPhone is at least stable. If you play draw something let me know and I shall play with you with my crappy drawings! Also I have finally started on reading “The Slab”. So far it is quite amazing. It is interesting how well one can relate to fictional characters. It almost feels like you know them :D. I finished catching up with Game of Thrones a while back. I can’t wait for the next season…hopefully I will catch up on the books soon as well! As for movies…I still haven’t seen Prometheus :( a friend of mine who lives quite far out wanted to go but he couldn’t make it…maybe someday I will go see it eventually. On the other hand I am kinda excited for Brave…it looks a little like the hunger games but so much more win ^_^. Well I guess I will stop talking now before I type out another 500 words hehe.

Firstly, I saw “The Avengers”! Great movie, better than expected which is saying quite a bit considering that I had high expectations from the very beginning. Also, one of my friends who I haven’t seen in a long while decided to show up for the movie lol. It was a little chaotic with all that but it was all worth it in the end :D.

Secondly, I turned 24…yess getting old >_>. I didn’t do much on the actual day just a nice lunch and helped a friend get a mother’s day gift for his mom. Some of my friends pooled resources and got me Skyrim…yep my life is going to get over soon. I have been taking precautions, setting alarms so I don’t end up playing for too long. Why am I so afraid of Skyrim? Here’s an interesting story. When I graduated I took some time off. I was looking for jobs because of my tricky visa situation but I was taking it easy. At this point I was playing Oblivion…all the time! I was a lazy bum but awesometastic in the world of elder scrolls xD. Not saying it is the best game out there…no quite contrary but addicting? YES. There are two other games that are looking potentially equally addicting – Dragon’s Dogma and Dishonored (I like how there are so many Ds in the names lol). I also have a kindle now and lots of amazon credit :3. I still have a huge reading backlog…slowly treading through it all. I also received a recommendation to read “Husband Hunting 101″ by a friend. Out of curiosity I read the first chapter…I am not sure at this point if I will enjoy it…but there’s a nice discussion that will come out of that book…maybe for later before I stretch this MM post ^_^;

Thirdly, I have been doing badly on my tv shows/anime/movies backlog. I would like to blame Dream High 2 for this low. I am just struggling to finish up on that…well good news is that I only have 2 more episodes remaining yay! Community has sadly ended yet again :( I really liked the last three episodes especially the game one hehe. Well since I hit the slump with Dream High 2 I decided to start rewatching a couple series – Merlin and Fast Forward. Sadly, not a lot of people know about Fast Forward…it is based off a book and never got past season 1…but great series nevertheless! Anyways a lot of my friends are watching “Game of Thrones” and I had started reading the first book a while back but never got back to it…but I finally started watching the show…I am um not sure so far how I feel about it…but when I saw the opening and Boromir I was all excited! Lets hope it lives upto my expectations xD.

Lastly, I have been trapped in the never ending cycle of video games @_@. If I was a nerd before I have been turned into a super nerd now ._. I dunno where this is taking me…hopefully not to a dark end lol.

Lets start with KPop which I haven’t been catching up with in sooo long. I however do find 4minute’s Volume Up very catchy! The video is interesting nothing special though…also their fashion sense um is interesting xD.

There’s a story with the first song…PLEASE DON’T JUDGE ME…I have always been very open to all kinds of music except for a few. But mostly I can enjoy a huge range of songs lol. Anyways back to the story…so some of my um college-mates were in a restaurant and one of the guys in the group left a note to the server (name: Carly) on the receipt “Hey I just met you, this is crazy. Here’s my # so call me maybe” and he indeed left his number lol. Sharing the song to commemorate the shenanigans! DO WATCH THE ENDING OF THE VIDEO FOR THE LOLs

Epic was sharing some free music over it’s 20th anniversary and I downloaded some soundtracks. My favorite ones are the GOW ones hehe. Special mention goes to the Cole train rap which cracked me up…I might try using it as an alarm tone where the “whooo” will give me a heart attack but wait who am I talking to -_- anyways the song that I am sharing here is called “Finally A Tomorrow” which plays towards the end of GOW3. New addition to my instrumental playlist :3

Last time I posted I was starting to organize my room a little better…found some things I thought were lost but now my room is somewhat in a mess again. I doubt it can be rescued but I did re-order my games and books backlogs so that I have easy access to them whenever I feel like catching up. So all I have been doing in my free time for the past couple weeks is playing games, watching dramas, anime, TV shows and reading books. I did catch up with people but spent most of my time drowning in my hobbies lol. I had “The Hunger Games” on my reading list for a while now but I didn’t get to it until recently because my friend wanted to go see the movie when it came out. I ended up reading the book and saw the movie yesterday and though I enjoyed the movie I always feel like the books are better. I feel like they could’ve done a much better job at the movie because the book wasn’t really all that long (374 pages). I was reading “The Black Prism” before but it has been on the back burner for a while now because I have been reading the Gears of War books which are pretty amazing in themselves. I finished up “Aspho Fields” which is the first one and certain parts in the book moved me. I am really enjoying Karen Traviss’s writing style. The books are based on the same universe as the games but they follow their own story line. What I am trying to say is that even if you haven’t played the game I have a feeling that you could pick up the book and still enjoy it :D. It does make me look-up words more often because I haven’t really read war-related books before but I like increasing my vocab anyways! I am currently reading “Jacinto’s Remnant” and should be done with it soon…I will move onto the 3rd book next. There are four books out currently and the 5th one will come out in May so hopefully I can finish up all of them to be ready for what seems to be the last one in the series. Anyways I am wondering if any of you all who do like reading have any place where you keep track of your reading lists. Let me know if you do…I remember having a shelfari account before but now I don’t remember the account info ^_^;

Moving on a LOT of my time has been devoted to playing video games. I got back into them sometime around August/September last year and I decided to jump into XBL. I was against the whole idea before thanks to some bad experiences but I soon met some nice people and now I am kind of addicted to playing online xD. I find the experience quite enjoyable to be honest. I like playing with my friends locally but a lot of games have split screens for local co-op and I don’t really like those >_>. After the whole live thing I also have been severely bitten by the “achievement/completion” bug which makes me go after achievements and trying to finish a game entirely before I move onto the next one. It has been sort of slowing me down but the satisfaction on completing a game is worth it :D. I will keep going as long as it keeps me happy…if it ever becomes a burden I think I will give up and I hope that if and when that time comes I will have the will power to do so! That said the games I am currently playing are – Gears of War (new DLC comes out tomorrow :3), AC:Brotherhood, KUF:Circle of Doom and just started Borderlands! I guess I am in a shooters phase these days because I guess I like playing with people on live now instead of playing an RPG by myself. Borderlands is fun so far…the art style is anime/cartoon-ish and there is a big variety of guns that you can play with! Figuring out what works best for me might take a while though!

Anyways that was all of my nerdy rant right there. I do have some fun stuff that happened at work but I will save that for another time xD. Even though the weather today is pretty bad I am surprised at how time flew by so fast and it is almost summertime. I am hoping I can have a more active summer this time around and hopefully it will be a good one ^_^. I don’t have any big plans but I am definitely going to make a Boston trip. From the looks of it I am not going to make it to Anime Boston this year T_T. I guess I might as well save up and splurge to my heart’s content at the next chance I get to go to a convo.

Ok I guess time to post those MM songs then! Before I start I have to say that I absolutely love Big Bang’s new album <3. When I first heard them I liked them...but the more I listen to them, the more I fall in love with them XD. I love Blue but the one I will share is Bad Boy because I find it very catchy.

The next one is also KPop…Know Your Name by Jay Park. This song is catchy and the MV is fun to watch with pretty neat choreography :D

The next one is by one of my favorite bands – Lost In You by Three Days Grace. I like the song as well as the lyrics.

Lastly, I created a new playlist recently for instrumentals that I like listening to while I code…and I ended up listening to the AC:II theme song on repeat for hours lol. The title of this song is Heart.

I moved into my current apartment last year around April. Being fresh out of college, I didn’t invest much into furniture. I still am quite hesitant to invest into anything pricy and/or big because chances are I will relocate and moving by myself has always been a big pain :(. My priced possessions include my 40″ LCD HDTV and my electronic devices. However I have always liked decorating my house with posters, magnets, wall decors and other geeky stuff. Yes I happen to have a lot of Asian decors that include dragons. This wall scroll is my favorite one <3

I also like this dragon pendant that I own. It is nothing special but I love wearing it. It sort of defines my personality :3. I am sure there’s more stuff hidden in my messy collection somewhere that I have forgotten about now because I don’t wear anything to work lol (bracelets, earrings and stuff).

Now getting to the title of my post…why did this random thought pop in my head? Because believe it or not even something as easy as making salad can go deadly wrong. While preparing the raw materials is relatively easy even for the novice, the salad dressing can make or destroy the salad. I think it largely depends on what compliments your ingredients. Buying ready made dressing makes things so much easier but still I will use the same ingredients and with one particular dressing it will be awesome and with another it might be meh. My personal favorites include caesar and balsamic vinaigrette. What kind of dressings do you all like?

I like using food as an analogy so I am going use salad dressing as one XD. I think an individual’s personality is like the dressing. Every human being has the same features. It is debatable that no two people look the same, but I would say that the raw ingredients are the same ;). Thus it is the special dressing that makes you who you are; a unique being. I mean look at the celebrities…with all the size related trends a lot of them have similar body types but it is their behavior and personalities that makes them differ from each other. But then again that’s just me with my crazy ideas lol XD.

Me: (looking at concerts calendar and spots Plain White T’s) whoa! me wanna go! Hmm who should I drag along this time…(sees friend at the college cafeteria). Hey do you like Plain White T’s?

Quick update on my life –

I was missing my social life when I didn’t have my car…and am really looking forward to this weekend with tons of catching up with friends on my list. Also have a combined birthday party tomorrow night which should be a blast XD. What I am trying to say is how dependent your life can be on certain things like having a car. I have some friends who live nearby but our schedules clash like crazy that I usually can’t hangout with them. Also since I moved away from downtown I can’t really do the “walk over to downtown” anymore which sucks because then I get bored at home sometimes. Not that I really get bored because I have video games that keep me busy but I like socializing with real people so I like getting out once in a while XD. That said I am also the designated driver a lot of times so that makes it difficult too because some of my friends don’t even have cars. Bottom line, I am really happy I got a car and my normal life again. I love listening to music while I come into work…it just makes my life so much better…it wakes me up by the time I reach work :D.

The other update is that I am considering going to Anime Boston this year (April 6-8). This time I am also planning to prepare my cosplay beforehand and be able to cosplay at the con if I end up going. I have a couple ones I want to do on my list but because I have relatively less experience with wigs I try to find out ones that I can do with my real hair. If I grow out my hair a little more I should be able to do Lenalee from D. Gray Man. I am also looking at Saber (Fate/Stay Night) and Erza (FairyTail) but these two will take more preparation, $$$ and wigs. Talking about hair I probably need a haircut soon because my bangs have grown out…also haven’t painted my nails in a loonnnggg while. Can you guys suggest me a color? :D

Getting back to topic, for the past week I have been listening to a lot of Hollywood Undead, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold (Georgina I might soon join you in your huge fandom xD), etc. Well you know what I mean...so I will share some of the songs I like in this post.

Let's begin with HU (Hollywood Undead). I have posted My black dahlia before which is the song that got me into them. I know a lot of their lyrics are very explicit but catchy at the same time lol. A good example of this is "Comin In Hot". I love the beat to this song and the lyrics are very catchy too lol.

Next is Crawl by Breaking Benjamin. Really good song :D

Avenged Sevenfold gets the next honor with Almost Easy.

Lastly showing some KPop love since I haven’t heard anything new recently so I will go with Troublemaker by JS & Hyuna. I know the MV seems like a ripoff of Sexyback but I think the song is very catchy with the whistling tune in the beginning. Again Hyuna is trying too hard but oh well.
