Last time I posted I was starting to organize my room a little better…found some things I thought were lost but now my room is somewhat in a mess again. I doubt it can be rescued but I did re-order my games and books backlogs so that I have easy access to them whenever I feel like catching up. So all I have been doing in my free time for the past couple weeks is playing games, watching dramas, anime, TV shows and reading books. I did catch up with people but spent most of my time drowning in my hobbies lol. I had “The Hunger Games” on my reading list for a while now but I didn’t get to it until recently because my friend wanted to go see the movie when it came out. I ended up reading the book and saw the movie yesterday and though I enjoyed the movie I always feel like the books are better. I feel like they could’ve done a much better job at the movie because the book wasn’t really all that long (374 pages). I was reading “The Black Prism” before but it has been on the back burner for a while now because I have been reading the Gears of War books which are pretty amazing in themselves. I finished up “Aspho Fields” which is the first one and certain parts in the book moved me. I am really enjoying Karen Traviss’s writing style. The books are based on the same universe as the games but they follow their own story line. What I am trying to say is that even if you haven’t played the game I have a feeling that you could pick up the book and still enjoy it :D. It does make me look-up words more often because I haven’t really read war-related books before but I like increasing my vocab anyways! I am currently reading “Jacinto’s Remnant” and should be done with it soon…I will move onto the 3rd book next. There are four books out currently and the 5th one will come out in May so hopefully I can finish up all of them to be ready for what seems to be the last one in the series. Anyways I am wondering if any of you all who do like reading have any place where you keep track of your reading lists. Let me know if you do…I remember having a shelfari account before but now I don’t remember the account info ^_^;

Moving on a LOT of my time has been devoted to playing video games. I got back into them sometime around August/September last year and I decided to jump into XBL. I was against the whole idea before thanks to some bad experiences but I soon met some nice people and now I am kind of addicted to playing online xD. I find the experience quite enjoyable to be honest. I like playing with my friends locally but a lot of games have split screens for local co-op and I don’t really like those >_>. After the whole live thing I also have been severely bitten by the “achievement/completion” bug which makes me go after achievements and trying to finish a game entirely before I move onto the next one. It has been sort of slowing me down but the satisfaction on completing a game is worth it :D. I will keep going as long as it keeps me happy…if it ever becomes a burden I think I will give up and I hope that if and when that time comes I will have the will power to do so! That said the games I am currently playing are – Gears of War (new DLC comes out tomorrow :3), AC:Brotherhood, KUF:Circle of Doom and just started Borderlands! I guess I am in a shooters phase these days because I guess I like playing with people on live now instead of playing an RPG by myself. Borderlands is fun so far…the art style is anime/cartoon-ish and there is a big variety of guns that you can play with! Figuring out what works best for me might take a while though!

Anyways that was all of my nerdy rant right there. I do have some fun stuff that happened at work but I will save that for another time xD. Even though the weather today is pretty bad I am surprised at how time flew by so fast and it is almost summertime. I am hoping I can have a more active summer this time around and hopefully it will be a good one ^_^. I don’t have any big plans but I am definitely going to make a Boston trip. From the looks of it I am not going to make it to Anime Boston this year T_T. I guess I might as well save up and splurge to my heart’s content at the next chance I get to go to a convo.

Ok I guess time to post those MM songs then! Before I start I have to say that I absolutely love Big Bang’s new album <3. When I first heard them I liked them...but the more I listen to them, the more I fall in love with them XD. I love Blue but the one I will share is Bad Boy because I find it very catchy.

The next one is also KPop…Know Your Name by Jay Park. This song is catchy and the MV is fun to watch with pretty neat choreography :D

The next one is by one of my favorite bands – Lost In You by Three Days Grace. I like the song as well as the lyrics.

Lastly, I created a new playlist recently for instrumentals that I like listening to while I code…and I ended up listening to the AC:II theme song on repeat for hours lol. The title of this song is Heart.

I moved into my current apartment last year around April. Being fresh out of college, I didn’t invest much into furniture. I still am quite hesitant to invest into anything pricy and/or big because chances are I will relocate and moving by myself has always been a big pain :(. My priced possessions include my 40″ LCD HDTV and my electronic devices. However I have always liked decorating my house with posters, magnets, wall decors and other geeky stuff. Yes I happen to have a lot of Asian decors that include dragons. This wall scroll is my favorite one <3

I also like this dragon pendant that I own. It is nothing special but I love wearing it. It sort of defines my personality :3. I am sure there’s more stuff hidden in my messy collection somewhere that I have forgotten about now because I don’t wear anything to work lol (bracelets, earrings and stuff).

Quick update on my life –

I was missing my social life when I didn’t have my car…and am really looking forward to this weekend with tons of catching up with friends on my list. Also have a combined birthday party tomorrow night which should be a blast XD. What I am trying to say is how dependent your life can be on certain things like having a car. I have some friends who live nearby but our schedules clash like crazy that I usually can’t hangout with them. Also since I moved away from downtown I can’t really do the “walk over to downtown” anymore which sucks because then I get bored at home sometimes. Not that I really get bored because I have video games that keep me busy but I like socializing with real people so I like getting out once in a while XD. That said I am also the designated driver a lot of times so that makes it difficult too because some of my friends don’t even have cars. Bottom line, I am really happy I got a car and my normal life again. I love listening to music while I come into work…it just makes my life so much better…it wakes me up by the time I reach work :D.

The other update is that I am considering going to Anime Boston this year (April 6-8). This time I am also planning to prepare my cosplay beforehand and be able to cosplay at the con if I end up going. I have a couple ones I want to do on my list but because I have relatively less experience with wigs I try to find out ones that I can do with my real hair. If I grow out my hair a little more I should be able to do Lenalee from D. Gray Man. I am also looking at Saber (Fate/Stay Night) and Erza (FairyTail) but these two will take more preparation, $$$ and wigs. Talking about hair I probably need a haircut soon because my bangs have grown out…also haven’t painted my nails in a loonnnggg while. Can you guys suggest me a color? :D

- Dir En Grey Concert: I have only one word to describe this…EPIC! For those who don’t know, Dir En Grey is a popular Japanese metal/rock band. When I was looking for things I could possibly do over my trip I came across this info…at first I didn’t believe it because the tickets were pretty cheap – approximately $40 per person in general admission (since those were the only ones remaining when I looked). I was pretty excited and stood in the line for an hour so that we could pick a good/safe location inside lol. That didn’t really help though because the moment they started playing, a bunch of people just rushed past into the “mosh-pit” and almost crushed us >_>. Nevertheless we had somewhat good spots for tiny people :3. I was soo happy when they played Lotus which was a single they released last year and my favorite recent song by them. I couldn’t take decent pictures/videos due to obvious reasons but I took a lot of them regardless. The following is what I thought was the best among my massive collection:

- Korea town and Little Tokyo: As you all probably have realized by now…I am very much into Asian stuff especially Korean and Japanese :D. Well let me say…LA has tons of it XD. One of my sis’s friend is Korean and she introduced us to Korea town. She even said that it is pretty close to what you would expect from Korea in terms of food. I miss the yummy ramyun and dukbokki! Also the amazing music they played in a lot of places! We also went to music stores with tons of KPop goodies and again I splurged on collectibles and posters…woot! There’s also Little Tokyo filled with Japanese awesomeness! Did I mention that I bought a ton of anime stuff. Well soon I am going to nerdify my apartment with all the awesome posters, pillows, plushies and what not.

- Christmas/New Years Eve: Although we did nothing really special it was a lot of fun just because I had a family member to celebrate it with :D. We went out for New Years because I missed dancing. It was pretty interesting and fun dancing the night away with my sis lol. I also ended up purchasing a lot of um games because of all the awesome holiday sales!

- Anime Los Angeles: This was the unexpected surprise of my trip. I didn’t realize about it until later due to which I could only attend on Friday because I had to leave the next day. Again I dragged my sis into it but I am glad that we both enjoyed it. I saw some of the best cosplays I have seen in person. The people were all really nice too and posed well for the pictures. I wish I can go again next year and maybe cosplay as well next time.

I still did the “touring” and visited a lot of different places in LA. I probably forgot a lot of it but when I go through the pictures I will remember :3. I definitely liked Griffith Observatory because it has been too long since I have seen a planetarium show. Hollywood was sort of fun too lol. I am still in the post vacation phase now and it will take a while before I can get back into my old habits XD. I hope to be back to blogging from now on and will try to keep posts interesting ^_^
